Terms of service
Last updated: 28 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use Membership Unlimited. We've kept them as plain as we can. If anything's unclear, email support@membershipunlimited.com.
Who we are
Membership Unlimited is a trading name of Serious Businesswomen Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 08054350, VAT number GB168 555 764). Registered office: Jolby Mill, Stapleton DL2 2QS.
"You" means the business or person who signs up for a Membership Unlimited account. "Your members" means the people who join, buy from or sign up to your membership.
What you get
Software to run a membership business: your website and sales pages, a members' area with your lessons, a community, live calls, emails and automated emails, things to sell, discount codes, stats, and a dashboard to run it all. What's included depends on your plan, which is shown when you sign up and in your dashboard. We add new things over time, and some things marked "Coming soon" aren't ready yet.
Your plan and payments
- You pay monthly or yearly, in advance, by card through our payment provider, Stripe.
- Prices include VAT where it applies. You'll get a receipt for each payment.
- Every new account is covered by our 14-day promise (below).
- If a payment fails, we'll email you and try your card again. If it still hasn't gone through after 7 days, your members' area and website close until it's sorted. Nothing is deleted, and everything opens again as soon as you pay.
Our 14-day promise
- If you cancel within 14 days of your first payment, we refund every penny.
- When we refund you, we delete everything you've made: your website and its address, your members' area, lessons, files and videos, your community, your people and lists, your emails, sales pages and orders, and your login to this account. This can't be undone, so download anything you want to keep first.
- We keep only the record that you paid and were refunded, because UK tax law says we must.
- After 14 days, cancelling works as below.
Founding price
If you join at a founding price, you keep it for as long as your plan stays active. If you cancel and come back later, the price at that time applies.
Cancelling
- You can cancel any time from your dashboard. Your account stays open until the end of the period you've paid for.
- We don't give refunds for part of a month or year, except under our 14-day promise or where the law says we must.
- Before you go, you can download your members list and your content. After your account closes we keep it for 30 days in case you change your mind, then delete it. Copies in our backups are gone within a further 30 days. Payment records are kept for 6 years, as UK tax law requires.
Fair use
Your plan includes a monthly email allowance and room for your videos and files, shown in your dashboard. We'll tell you before you reach a limit. These limits keep the service fast and our sending reputation good for everyone.
Payments from your members
- Your members pay you, not us. You connect your own Stripe account, and their payments go straight into it. Stripe's own terms for connected accounts apply between you and Stripe.
- You're responsible for your own prices, discount codes, refunds to your members, VAT and tax.
- If you post things to people, you're responsible for posting them and for the postage you charge.
Your content
- Your content stays yours. You give us permission to store it and show it to your members and visitors so we can run your membership.
- You're responsible for what you publish and for having the right to use it (words, photos, music, videos).
- Ready-written words we give you (emails, pages, posts) are yours to use and change as you like.
Your members' information
Your members' information belongs to you. Under data protection law you are the controller of it and we are your processor. The "Data processing" section below forms part of these terms.
You agree to follow the privacy and email rules for the countries your members live in. Your dashboard has a privacy checklist, a privacy policy you can use, and tools to download or delete a person's information when they ask.
How we use AI
Some features use AI to help you: writing a first draft of an email or page when you ask, and making captions and transcripts for your videos and calls.
- AI only runs when you use one of those features.
- Always read what it writes before you use it. It can get things wrong, and you're responsible for what you send and publish.
- What you send is used only to give you the result, and under our AI providers' business terms isn't used to train their AI.
Things you can't do
Don't use Membership Unlimited to:
- send spam or email people who haven't agreed to hear from you
- publish anything illegal, hateful, harassing or misleading
- sell things you're not allowed to sell, or make promises about earnings or health you can't back up
- try to break, overload or get round the security of the service, or see anyone else's information
If you do, we may pause or close your account. We'll tell you why, and where we can, give you a chance to put it right first.
Keeping things running
We back everything up every night, with a second copy kept outside our main database, and we watch the service around the clock. No online service can promise to be available every minute of every day. We may need to take things offline briefly for updates, and we'll try to do that at quiet times.
Our responsibility to you
- You're using Membership Unlimited for your business. We provide it "as is": we don't promise it will suit every purpose, be free of mistakes, or be available all the time.
- We're not responsible for any loss of profits, sales, income, members, business, goodwill or opportunity, or for any indirect or consequential loss, however it happens.
- We're not responsible for lost or damaged content or information. You can download your content and your people at any time, and you should keep your own copies.
- We’re not responsible for anything caused by the companies we rely on (such as payment, hosting or email companies, or your own internet provider), by things outside our control, or by anything your members say, do or claim.
- For anything else, our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the 3 months before the claim, or £100, whichever is more.
- Any claim must be made within one year of the thing that caused it.
- Nothing in these terms limits responsibility for death or injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.
Your responsibility to us
If someone makes a claim against us because of your content, your members, your products, your emails, your prices, refunds or tax, or you breaking these terms, you'll cover our reasonable costs and losses from it, unless it was caused by us. We'll tell you promptly about any such claim and let you have a say in how it's handled.
Data processing
When we handle your members' information for you, we:
- use it only to run your membership, following your instructions in your dashboard, and never sell it or use it for our own marketing
- make sure our team and the companies we use keep it confidential and secure
- use only trusted companies to help us (hosting, storage, payments, email sending and the like). Email us for the current list. We'll tell you before we add a new one, and you can object
- help you when someone asks to see, correct or delete their information
- tell you without delay if we find their information has been lost or seen by someone it shouldn't have been
- delete it when your account closes, as described in "Cancelling", unless the law says we must keep it
- give you the information you need to show you're following data protection law
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll email you at least 30 days before it applies. If you don't agree, you can cancel before then.
The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can deal with any disputes. If you live elsewhere, you keep any rights your own country's law gives you.
